Pick Number OnePanic! at the Disco “Vices & Virtues” I swear I am a complete and total nutter when it comes to this band. I love Panic to bits, and not even a split can convince me to give up on them. “Fever” is classic, “Pretty. Odd.” is genius, but “Vices & Virtues” is…amazing. I was completely blown away the first time I heard this album. It is the single one that means absolutely everything to me, because it proved what Brendon and Spencer could - and did - do with the departure of Ryan and Jon. The lyrics and music are just..so completely Panic. To be honest, I pre-ordered it in February (see? Nutter) but the day it dropped I bought an extra copy for my car. I listened to it at least 30 times in one week. I have my grandmother listening to and liking it. I can’t describe what I like the most, I just completely love it. This is definitely a put-it-on-and-blare-it-if-you-want-to-dance album. Favorite tracks: “Hurricane”, “Nearly Witches (Ever Since We Met)”, “Turn Off The Lights”, “Bittersweet”
Pick Number TwoKids of Survival “Good ‘Til Your Heart Pops” KOS, some great friends of mine. I’m definitely not picking this album because of that. When this album first dropped, I couldn’t remember a time that I was that impressed with an album. I’d say this is my pick because I’ve been jamming to and blaring it for years and it is one of those rare albums that I never get sick of; one that I never skip a song on. Gary’s voice is perfect for any genre and I seriously love the drum parts. It was a great step up from “Something to Forget Me By…” and I couldn’t be more proud of them. This is my go-to band when I feel insanely homesick. Favorite tracks: “Brooklyn Burns”, “My Addiction”, “Come to Your Window”, “Dreaming”
